We saw Kempty Falls. The water was so cold my teeth were dancing. Go till Lal Tibba. You can see very far. Papa said don’t drive too fast on hairpin bends. I said okay.
2. Rishikesh and Haridwar – The Holy Water Route
From Dehradun you can go to Rishikesh first. There is big river Ganga. We saw people doing rafting. I was scared but papa said next time. Then you drive to Haridwar. In Haridwar there is Har Ki Pauri. Lots of diyas floating. It looked like stars fell in water. This route is easy road. But too many people and cows on road. Please drive slowly. Cow does not know traffic rules.
3. Chopta – The Place With Big Mountains
This is for people who like cold. From Dehradun you go to Chopta via Rishikesh and Devprayag. Road is winding but very pretty. We saw snow on mountains. Chopta is called Mini Switzerland. I don’t know Switzerland but papa said it is nice. There is Tungnath temple also. You have to walk. I was tired. But the view was good.
4. The 4 Dham – Big Big Yatra
Papa said 4 Dham means Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. This is a very long trip. You need many days. Road goes from Dehradun to different places. Some roads are not very good because of rain. But if you have self drive car you can stop where you want. We did not do full 4 Dham because I have school. But papa said next year.
5. Nainital and Neem Krori Baba Temple – The Lake and Baba Route
From Dehradun you drive to Nainital. It is a bit far but road is okay. Nainital has a big lake. We did boating. I saw duck. Then we went to Neem Krori Baba Temple. This temple is very famous. People say Baba fulfills wishes. Mummy tied a red thread. I wished for a big chocolate. Still waiting. But temple is nice and peaceful. You must go if you are going to Nainital side.
6. Lansdowne – The Quiet Green Place
Lansdowne is also near. Less crowd. Big trees. My dog would love it but we don’t have dog. You can walk in forest. Air is very fresh. Papa said this is best for weekend. From Dehradun it is only few hours.
