Construction Materials in Just 60 Minutes? HomeRun Raises ₹104 Crore

HomeRun, a quick commerce platform specialising in construction and interior materials, has raised $12 million (approximately ₹104 crore) in a Series A+ funding round. The round was led by Nexus Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors Sorin Investments, Titan Capital, Sparrow Capital, and Consumer Collective by Atrium.
The fresh capital will be used to expand into new geographies and to invest further in supply chain infrastructure, technology, and category expansion. The startup had earlier raised $6.6 million in the same year, signalling continued investor confidence in its model.
HomeRun promises to deliver construction and interior materials to contractors and homeowners at competitive prices within 60 minutes. The platform concentrates on high-frequency categories such as wires, plywood, cement, hardware, and paints—items that are regularly required on active construction and renovation sites.
Bridging a Critical Gap in Construction Supply
India’s construction and interior finishing sectors have long relied on fragmented local markets, multiple intermediaries, and unpredictable delivery timelines. Contractors and individual homeowners frequently face delays when sourcing essential materials, which can disrupt project schedules and inflate costs.
HomeRun is attempting to address this inefficiency by applying the principles of quick commerce—speed, reliability, and competitive pricing—to a category traditionally considered too bulky or complex for rapid delivery. By focusing on high-turnover items that are used repeatedly during a project, the company aims to become a dependable daily supplier rather than a one-time bulk provider.
The 60-minute delivery promise is central to its value proposition. In an industry where waiting for materials can halt entire teams of labourers, the ability to receive wires, hardware, or paint within an hour can meaningfully improve productivity and reduce idle time on site.
Targeting Both Contractors and Homeowners
HomeRun serves two primary customer groups. Professional contractors require consistent, on-demand access to materials across multiple active projects. Homeowners undertaking renovations or new construction often lack established supplier relationships and struggle with price discovery and logistics.
By catering to both segments, the platform expands its addressable market while building volume across high-frequency categories. Competitive pricing is positioned as a key differentiator, helping the company attract price-sensitive customers who might otherwise continue purchasing from traditional local dealers.
The focus on everyday construction essentials rather than specialised or low-volume products allows HomeRun to optimise inventory and fulfilment. Wires, plywood, cement, hardware, and paints are items that move quickly and can be stocked in denser networks of dark stores or micro-warehouses closer to demand centres.
Strengthening the Backbone: Supply Chain and Technology
A significant portion of the new funding is earmarked for supply chain and technology investments. Quick commerce in construction materials presents unique operational challenges compared with quick commerce for groceries or consumer goods. Products are heavier, bulkier, and sometimes require careful handling. Inventory planning must account for fluctuating demand driven by project cycles and seasonal construction activity.
Building a reliable last-mile network capable of consistent 60-minute delivery requires denser storage points, efficient routing, and real-time inventory visibility. Technology will play a critical role in demand forecasting, order allocation, and the coordination of deliveries across multiple neighbourhoods.
Category expansion is another stated priority. While the current focus remains on high-frequency essentials, the company is expected to gradually broaden its assortment to include complementary products that contractors and homeowners need as projects progress. Controlled expansion will be important to avoid diluting the speed and reliability that define the core offering.
Investor Confidence and Market Opportunity
The participation of Nexus Venture Partners as the lead investor, alongside continued support from existing backers, indicates growing belief in the viability of specialised quick commerce for the construction sector. The Indian real estate and infrastructure markets continue to expand, driven by urbanisation, housing demand, and government-backed infrastructure projects. This growth creates sustained need for efficient material supply chains.
Traditional distribution in the sector remains highly fragmented. Many small and mid-sized contractors lack the bargaining power or logistics capability of large organised players. A digital platform that combines competitive pricing with rapid fulfilment can reduce friction for these customers while creating a scalable business model for the operator.
HomeRun’s earlier $6.6 million raise earlier in the year, followed quickly by this larger $12 million round, suggests the company has demonstrated early traction sufficient to attract additional capital for accelerated growth.
Looking Ahead
With the new funding, HomeRun is expected to prioritise geographic expansion into additional cities and neighbourhoods where construction activity is dense. Parallel investments in technology and supply chain infrastructure will be necessary to maintain service levels as volume grows.
Success will depend on execution across several fronts: maintaining delivery speed as the network scales, managing inventory of relatively bulky goods efficiently, building trust with both professional contractors and individual homeowners, and gradually expanding categories without compromising the core promise of speed and reliability.
If the company can consistently deliver construction essentials within 60 minutes at competitive prices, it has the potential to reshape how materials move to active work sites in India’s growing urban centres. The Series A+ funding provides the resources to test that proposition at greater scale.
HomeRun bets that the same consumer expectation of rapid delivery that transformed grocery and electronics can be extended—carefully and with the right operational backbone—to the world of construction and interiors. The coming months will show how effectively the startup converts that vision into reliable, everyday service for the contractors and homeowners who keep India’s building activity moving.
