Deep-Tech Energy Startup Adiabatic Technologies Raises ₹8.3 Crore in Seed Round

Deep-tech energy startup Adiabatic Technologies has raised ₹8.3 crore in a seed funding round co-led by Malpani Ventures and Avinya Ventures. The round also saw participation from Appreciate Capital, DeVC, Operators Studio, and UPES Incubator.

The company had earlier raised ₹1.1 crore in an angel round from Soonicorn Ventures and other investors in November 2025. The latest capital will be used to expand manufacturing capacity to 100 MWh annually, accelerate product development, strengthen the engineering team, and scale the deployment of its battery systems across robotics, defence, and other high-reliability sectors.

Founded in 2022 by Darshan Meher, Adiabatic develops custom lithium-ion battery packs, smart chargers, and proprietary Battery Management Systems (BMS) for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) operating in demanding environments. The company’s solutions are designed for applications that require high reliability and performance, including drones, defence systems, robotics, agricultural equipment, electric vehicles, and solar energy.

Adiabatic says it has already deployed more than 20,000 battery systems across over 25 OEMs. This early traction underscores the growing demand for specialised energy storage solutions tailored to the unique requirements of industrial and mission-critical use cases, where standard consumer-grade batteries often fall short.

India’s push toward electrification, autonomous systems, and indigenous defence capabilities has created a strong need for reliable, application-specific battery technology. Adiabatic is positioning itself to serve this demand by combining custom pack design, intelligent charging systems, and advanced BMS technology that can monitor, protect, and optimise battery performance under varied operating conditions.

The seed funding provides the company with resources to significantly scale production. Expanding manufacturing capacity to 100 MWh per year will enable Adiabatic to meet rising order volumes and support larger OEM deployments. Parallel investments in product development and engineering talent are expected to strengthen the company’s ability to deliver differentiated solutions for complex use cases.

Investor interest from both specialised deep-tech and early-stage funds reflects confidence in the market opportunity for high-performance battery systems. As sectors such as unmanned aerial systems, defence electronics, industrial robotics, and electric mobility continue to expand, the requirement for robust, customised energy storage is expected to grow.

With the new capital, Adiabatic aims to move from early commercial deployments to broader industrial-scale adoption. The company will focus on increasing production throughput, refining its technology stack, and deepening relationships with OEMs across its target verticals.

The funding marks an important step for the young deep-tech firm as it seeks to establish itself as a reliable supplier of specialised battery systems in some of India’s most demanding application areas.
