Dr. M.A. Farha: From a Telugu-Medium Classroom to a National Voice for Women Empowerment
KHAMMAM, TELANGANA: Dr. M.A. Farha’s journey from a humble village background in Khammam to national and international platforms reflects a story of determination, education and purposeful leadership. A Mrs. India titleholder, High Court Advocate, Fit India Ambassador and social leader, she has built her career across law, women empowerment, public leadership and community development.
Farha completed her schooling at Government Girls High School, Khammam, followed by Intermediate at Government Women’s College, Khammam. She went on to graduate from SSRJ College, completed her MBA from Dare College and pursued LL.B. from Manair College, Khammam.
Her journey gained national attention after she was crowned Mrs. India First Runner-Up 2021 and Mrs. India World Winner 2021. Rather than viewing pageantry as an endpoint, she used the platform to promote confidence, leadership and greater participation of women in society.
Today, Dr. Farha serves as a High Court Advocate, Fit India Ambassador and Swachh Survekshan Ambassador for Khammam Municipal Corporation. She is also the founder of the Faras Welfare Foundation, through which she works on initiatives involving women empowerment, education, youth development, environmental sustainability, health awareness, legal awareness and community welfare.
Her contributions have been recognised through honours including the Nari Shakti Award, Stree Shakti Award, AIWAA, World Changemaker Award and an Honorary Doctorate. Her sustainability-related work has also been recognised through acknowledgment as an Eco-preneur by the Times of India.
Her international journey includes the Global Changemaker Award at the Global Youth Congress in Thailand, recognising contributions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
For Dr. Farha, personal achievement carries a larger responsibility—to encourage women to believe in themselves, pursue education and create independent identities while inspiring young people to contribute to society.
