A Gurgaon healthtech startup, founded on 27th September 2025, is building a trusted bridge between the hospital and the home.

Somewhere in India, a phone rings late in the evening. On the other end is a son or daughter living in another city, or perhaps another country, asking the question so many families quietly dread: Who is going to take care of Mama after the surgery?

It is a question Navin Chauhan and Komal Gupta had heard, in one form or another, many times over their careers in healthcare. It is also the question that eventually became SilverCare.

Two Careers, One Realisation

Navin Chauhan brought 16 years of experience from leading healthcare organisations like Healthians, Atulaya Healthcare, and Life Care Foundation. Komal Gupta, with 14 years of experience as a Senior Research Scientist in the biopharmaceutical industry, contributed scientific expertise, strategic thinking, and a strong focus on innovation. Together, they combined their diverse strengths to build SilverCare with a shared vision of transforming eldercare.

Different backgrounds, but the same observation. Families often struggle to care for their ageing parents, especially when they live in different cities or countries. Hospitals do their part, but once the discharge papers are signed, there is a gap between hospital care and dependable care at home. For elderly parents whose children live away, that gap can feel enormous.

“With years of experience in healthcare, we wanted to build a trusted bridge between hospital and home,” the founders say. For them, SilverCare is not just a healthcare startup. It is a mission to make sure elders are never left without trusted care.

Starting from Scratch

On 27th September 2025, SilverCare (a unit of Raika Wellness Pvt. Ltd.) officially began, headquartered in Gurgaon. The founders started with ₹5 lakhs and a shared vision of transforming eldercare in India. They built the venture from the ground up, stepping into new challenges, learning as they went, and turning an idea into a growing business.

Their promise was simple: bring hospital-level care, comfort and compassion to the family’s doorstep, with a particular expertise in post-surgery home recovery.

The First Patient

The first chapter of the SilverCare story belongs to a 67-year-old woman in Chandigarh. She had undergone knee replacement surgery, and her family found SilverCare through its website. SilverCare placed a trained caregiver (GDA) and nursing service with her, and with that, the startup had its first customer.

The Trust Problem

The early days were not easy. The biggest challenge was trust. SilverCare was a newly launched brand, and the founders were asking families to rely on it for the care of their elderly loved ones. That is a lot to ask of anyone.

There were setbacks too. The founders made a few wrong hiring decisions in the early stage, a hard lesson in a business where the people are the product.

Did they ever think about giving up? Their answer is short and firm: Not yet.

The Turning Point

The biggest shift came when the founders recognised the need to move beyond fragmented caregiving. Instead of offering scattered pieces of support, they set out to build a structured, end-to-end eldercare solution.

Our journey with actor Mr. Rakesh Bedi began with a meeting at a SilverCare client site, where he witnessed our work and understood our approach to eldercare. Impressed by the vision and the impact SilverCare aims to create, he showed a keen interest in the project and later joined us as our Brand Ambassador. His association strengthens our mission to make eldercare more accessible, compassionate, and meaningful for families across India. .

Today, SilverCare offers post-surgery recovery plans for elders, including nursing, physiotherapy, GDA support and doctor consultation. Beyond recovery, the company provides trusted, professional support in caregiving, medical coordination and daily eldercare.

What Sets SilverCare Apart

Three things define the company’s approach:

  1. Structured processes that bring consistency to care.

  2. Verified, trained and vaccinated staff families can rely on.

  3. Clinical coordination and continuous family communication, delivered with a personal touch.

The Numbers Behind the Mission

The trust SilverCare worked so hard to earn is now reflected in its growth:

Looking Ahead

The founders’ vision for the next 3 to 5 years is to build SilverCare into one of India’s most trusted integrated eldercare platforms. They plan to expand across major cities and serve seniors through home healthcare, post-surgery recovery, clinical coordination, companionship and a tech-enabled approach.

Advice from the Founders

For anyone starting from scratch today, the founders offer this: start small, believe in your idea and never be afraid of making mistakes. Focus on solving real problems, build genuine relationships and stay patient through challenges. Success takes time, but consistency, honesty and the courage to keep going make all the difference.
