From Innovation to Expansion: Ayati Devices Raises ₹15 Cr

Bengaluru-based medtech startup Ayati Devices is advancing its mission to make diabetic foot assessment more accessible and practical. Founded in 2019 by Nishant Kathpal and incubated at IIT Bombay’s Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE), the company develops portable, point-of-care technologies for evaluating diabetic foot complications and vascular conditions.
The startup recently raised pre-Series A funding, which it plans to use to strengthen its team, expand manufacturing capacity, deepen its presence in domestic and international markets, and increase investment in research and artificial intelligence.
Portable Tools for Everyday Clinical Settings
Ayati’s technologies are designed for use in clinics, hospitals, primary care centres and screening programmes, rather than being limited to specialist facilities. This approach aims to bring foot-risk assessment closer to routine diabetes care, enabling earlier detection and timely referral when needed.
The company’s portfolio includes:
- Vibrasense, which measures vibration perception threshold to assess large-fibre nerve function
- Vibrasense+T, which adds warm and cold perception testing to evaluate both large- and small-fibre nerve function
- Vasosense, a platform for vascular assessment, including screening for peripheral arterial disease
- Angiocam, which assesses tissue-level blood perfusion
- Podiasense products for plantar-pressure assessment
Together these tools form part of Ayati’s Foot Labs platform, which integrates assessments of nerve function, vascular status, microcirculation and plantar pressure into a more comprehensive view of foot health.
Serving Clinicians and Healthcare Facilities
Ayati primarily sells to healthcare providers such as clinics and hospitals, as well as individual clinicians including diabetologists, endocrinologists and podiatrists. For facilities that require broader evaluation, the company combines multiple diagnostic technologies into a single platform covering neuropathy, blood flow, microcirculation and plantar pressure.
This modular yet integrated approach allows healthcare providers to adopt the level of assessment that matches their patient population and clinical workflow.
Building AI into the Diagnostic Layer
Ayati is also developing AI capabilities across its platform. The immediate goal is to give clinicians additional insights drawn from diagnostic measurements while preserving clinical judgement. Over time, the company plans to connect data from different tests through a common AI layer that brings together information on nerve function, circulation and foot biomechanics.
According to Ayati, the resulting data could eventually support risk stratification—helping estimate the likelihood of ulcer development and guiding how frequently patients should return for follow-up assessments. The longer-term objective is an integrated clinical decision-support platform rather than a collection of standalone tests.
Global Deployments and Next Steps
More than 10,000 of Ayati’s devices have already been deployed across more than 30 countries, with India accounting for the largest share of installations. The new capital will support the next phase of commercial growth, including increased manufacturing capacity and wider market reach.
The pre-Series A round builds on earlier seed and angel funding, grants and incubator support that helped the company develop and begin commercialising its technologies.
By focusing on portable, point-of-care tools and gradually layering AI-supported insights, Ayati is working to shift diabetic foot screening from specialised settings into the everyday practice of diabetes care. For patients, earlier and more accessible assessment can mean the difference between timely intervention and more serious complications. For clinicians, it offers a practical way to incorporate structured foot-risk evaluation into routine consultations.
