Artiure: Reimagining India’s Artistic Landscape

One day, Suumit Arora was fiddling with generative AI, trying to create affordable and personalised art to decorate his space. This trial subsequently revealed a larger gap - few accessible marketplaces existed for digital and AI art. The thought of changing this, combined with the affordability of digital art, seemed like the perfect opportunity to start Artiure, a platform for art and artists alike.

Suumit carries a wealth of experience, having worked with organisations such as Times Internet, Deloitte and Reliance in his early professional career. Post those stints, he dove into entrepreneurship, heading an IT consulting firm (K2S Consulting) since 2013.

In January 2025, he launched Artiure, with the vision of providing budget-friendly, aesthetically pleasing paintings. Initially, explaining the concept of Artiure to artists was challenging, but with time, they’ve opened up to the idea. Over time, they’ve also upgraded the quality of their raw material, resulting in a long-lasting and museum-grade quality. They emphasise being an equal opportunity platform for all artists, irrespective of experience.

A Platform for Artists:

Browsing their Instagram, you’ll notice several posts that celebrate the artists, actively promoting not just the art but also the person behind it. Built on this foundational philosophy, Suumit concedes that a good brand takes care of the people who help build it.

Artiure is attempting to create one of the largest communities of artists creating handcrafted art, where artists get to showcase themselves to the world in their own way. So far, they’ve onboarded nine artists, with close to 55 artists in the pipeline. Despite this large pool, Suumit insists on introducing just one to two artists every month on the platform, the reason being that every artist deserves their space and visibility.

They’ve segregated the artwork into digital and handcrafted segments, with curated gifting options such as custom-branded notebooks and coasters, or personalised bookmarks also available.

Their current roster includes upcoming artists like Suvvro P Basu as well as Arun Bajaj, the needle man of India, who turns fabric into striking portraits.

The Importance of Art in Everyday Life:

It's easy to acquiesce that art is a luxury, not a necessity. Yet, it washes away from the soul, the dust of everyday life trapped in a circle of mundanity. Space can have a substantial impact on your mental and emotional health, and that’s the knowledge Suumit tries to impart.

Associated with sharpness, office spaces feature more white light and cooler colours, whereas homes are bathed in yellow light and warmer colours to convey safety. Similarly, the décor plays an important role in shaping its personality.

Hence, the artwork in the living room would differ from the bedroom, the latter being more about passion and the former about subtlety. For him, an empty wall is like having a great body but lacking the appropriate attire.

‘Luxury can be created from simple things. Subtle is also a luxury. You don’t always need to mean bling.’

Core principles of creating a Business:

He expounded that quality should be the north star of your brand. Being quality conscious can help you win the larger game. Secondly, creating value for the consumer was another core proponent, tying in again to the quality of efforts and materials used.

Success cannot always be measured by the bank balance, but by the kind of experiences that you create. That translates to referrals, word of mouth and organic credibility that cannot be brought through paid PR.

When asked for advice to the young entrepreneur who's just getting started, Suumit asserts that failure is the stepping stone to success, but unfortunately, many people fear failure. Every difficult moment is an opportunity to learn and get better.

Another goal for Artiure is to open up a physical gallery and convert it into a franchise model if it becomes successful. They’ve also recently set up an office in Delaware and are looking to expand into the US market.
