Cradlewise Raises $12 Million to Scale AI-Powered Smart Cribs for Better Family Sleep

Consumer health and wellness company Cradlewise has raised $12 million in a Series A funding round led by 3one4 Capital and Prudent Investment Management. With this latest infusion, the company has brought its total capital raised to $26 million. Previous and current backers include Sean O’Sullivan Ventures, Footwork VC, Charles River Ventures, 3one4 Capital, and Prudent Investment Management.

The fresh funds will be directed toward growth, channel expansion, product research and development, and geographic expansion. For a company operating at the intersection of artificial intelligence, consumer hardware, and parenting, the capital provides runway to deepen its technology and reach more families.

The Founders and the Problem They Set Out to Solve

Cradlewise was founded in 2019 by Radhika Patil and Bharath Patil. Like many parents, they encountered the exhausting reality of infant sleep challenges. Nighttime awakenings, the constant need to soothe a baby back to sleep, and the cumulative fatigue that follows can affect the entire household. Rather than accept this as an unavoidable stage of early parenthood, the couple began exploring whether technology could meaningfully reduce the burden.

Their response was an AI-first approach to the crib itself. Instead of treating the crib as a passive piece of furniture, they designed it as an active sleep system capable of sensing, predicting, and responding. The goal was straightforward yet ambitious: help babies settle more easily and give parents back valuable hours of rest and energy.

How the Technology Works

Cradlewise’s smart cribs use an array of sensors to track movement, sound, sleep state, and other contextual signals. The system analyses this data in real time to predict when a baby is likely to stir or wake. Rather than waiting for the infant to fully awaken and cry, the crib can intervene earlier with adaptive motion designed to soothe.

The company claims this proactive approach can save parents up to two hours of effort each day. Behind the experience sits a substantial data foundation: Cradlewise says its models have been trained on more than 75 million hours of sleep data. The company also holds patents covering its hardware and sensing systems, reflecting an emphasis on proprietary technology rather than off-the-shelf components.

The complete system combines the crib hardware with contactless monitoring, adaptive motion, and a connected mobile app. Together these elements aim to detect early signs of stirring and help the baby return to sleep before the disruption escalates.

Manufacturing Control from Pune

Unlike many consumer hardware startups that rely entirely on third-party contract manufacturers, Cradlewise operates an integrated manufacturing facility in Pune. The facility is capable of producing, testing, and packing thousands of cribs each month. This vertical capability gives the company tighter control over quality, faster iteration on product development, and better management of costs—advantages that become increasingly important as volumes grow and the product line expands.

In-house manufacturing also supports the company’s ability to maintain consistency in a product category where safety, reliability, and precise sensor performance are non-negotiable.

Addressing a Persistent Parenting Challenge

Infant sleep remains one of the most frequently discussed and least resolved challenges of early parenthood. Fragmented sleep affects parental mental health, daytime functioning, and overall family wellbeing. Traditional solutions—swaddles, white-noise machines, sleep training methods—rely heavily on parental intervention and consistency. Cradlewise positions its technology as a complementary layer that works continuously in the background.

By focusing on prediction and early intervention rather than reactive response, the company is attempting to shift the dynamics of night-time care. The product is aimed squarely at the growing intersection of consumer technology, artificial intelligence, and modern parenting expectations.

Strategic Use of Capital

The $12 million Series A will support several parallel priorities. Growth and channel expansion will help Cradlewise reach more customers through both direct and retail pathways. Continued product R&D will allow refinement of the sensing algorithms, motion systems, and app experience. Geographic expansion will test the product in additional markets where demand for smart parenting solutions is rising.

These investments build on the foundation already in place: patented technology, a large proprietary sleep dataset, and manufacturing capacity that can scale with demand.

Looking Ahead

Cradlewise enters its next phase with stronger financial backing and a clearer path to broader distribution. The core challenge remains execution—continuing to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of its predictive systems while maintaining the safety and reliability standards required for infant products.

If the company can consistently deliver on its promise of reduced parental effort and better sleep for both babies and caregivers, it has the potential to become a meaningful presence in the smart parenting category. The combination of AI-driven sensing, adaptive response, and controlled manufacturing gives Cradlewise a distinct profile among consumer health and wellness startups.

For Radhika and Bharath Patil, the journey that began with the everyday exhaustion of new parenthood has evolved into a technology platform designed to ease that burden for many other families. With $26 million raised to date and a focused plan for the latest capital, Cradlewise is now positioned to test how widely its approach to intelligent infant sleep can scale.
