How Bengaluru’s Bhindi.AI is Turning Conversations into Real Work

In a world flooded with AI chatbots, most tools stop at giving smart answers. You type a prompt, get a reply, and then do the actual work yourself. Bengaluru-based Bhindi.AI wants to change that equation.
Instead of just responding, Bhindi turns your words into real actions — drafting and sending emails, updating spreadsheets, scheduling meetings, posting on social media, and managing multi-step workflows across different apps.
Founded in May 2025 by Sowmay Jain, Bhindi.AI is building what it calls a “text-to-action” interface. The idea is simple yet powerful: talk to AI like a smart assistant, and let it execute tasks for you.
The Origin Story: From Personal Frustration to Product
Sowmay Jain, who earlier co-founded the DeFi platform InstadAPP with his brother Samyak Jain, was constantly scripting small automation tools for his own emails and coding tasks. One day, he realised this capability could be packaged into a friendly, conversational interface accessible to everyone.
The name “Bhindi” came about casually over lunch. “We were eating bhindi (okra) the day we started talking about the product,” Jain recalls. The fun, memorable name stuck — especially appealing to global users unfamiliar with the Hindi word for lady’s fingers.
How Bhindi.AI Actually Works
Unlike traditional AI tools that only generate content, Bhindi.AI integrates leading models (you can switch between ChatGPT and various Claude versions) and adds a powerful execution layer on top.
Users can instruct it to:
Draft and send professional emails
Organise documents in Google Drive
Update Google Sheets with new data
Schedule meetings on calendar
Post tweets or memes directly on Twitter/X
Notify teammates on Slack
The platform supports multi-step workflows. For example, you can say: “Send a follow-up email to the client, update the project status in the sheet, and notify the team on Slack.” Bhindi handles the entire sequence.
It currently works with platforms like Gmail, Google Sheets, Twitter, Slack, Stripe, and Perplexity, with more integrations planned.
Jain gives a simple contrast: “Most AI tools can help draft an email. But they won’t send it. Bhindi drafts it and sends it for you.”
Early Traction and Product Roadmap
In a short time, Bhindi.AI has gained over 5,000 users with 30% daily retention. The user base is evenly split between India and the US (40% each), with the remaining 20% from other countries.
The product is currently web-based. An iOS app is awaiting Apple’s approval and is expected to launch in August 2025. Android will follow soon after.
Pricing is straightforward: a free plan with limited credits and a single paid tier at $20 per month. New users get a discounted $5 trial month. Influencers are offered free access in exchange for social media promotion.
The team of 11 (60% engineers) is developing in Bengaluru while handling operations from Singapore. The startup remains bootstrapped so far.
New Feature: Personas – Your Digital Team
One of the most exciting upcoming features is “Personas” — custom mini-AI agents with specific roles.
Users can create different personas such as:
Email Manager (archive spam, flag important messages)
Calendar Assistant
Social Media Handler
Project Coordinator
Each persona can be given detailed instructions and personality traits. It’s like building your own digital support team.
Around 50 users are currently testing this feature internally, with a wider launch expected within two weeks.
Standing Out in a Crowded Market
The AI interface space is extremely competitive, with fast-growing players like Cursor and Perplexity AI setting high benchmarks. Jain acknowledges the challenge: “There are too many apps promising similar things. Users are hesitant to switch because they don’t know if something new will be better.”
Bhindi.AI’s differentiation lies in its strong focus on execution rather than just intelligence. The goal is to reduce friction between intention and completion.
Vision for the Future: From Intent to Autonomous Action
Jain’s long-term vision goes beyond current capabilities. He imagines a future where Bhindi doesn’t just follow instructions — it anticipates needs.
“Right now, I tell it what to do. But what if it knew me well enough to act without asking?” he says. “If it knows tomorrow is my mum’s birthday and suggests sending flowers — or just does it — that’s when we’ve built the right product.”
This shift from “text-to-action” to “intent-to-action” represents the next frontier in personal AI assistants.
Why Bhindi.AI Matters
In our increasingly digital work lives, context-switching between apps eats up enormous time and mental energy. Tools like Bhindi.AI aim to collapse that complexity into natural conversation.
For professionals, freelancers, and small teams, such automation can free up hours every week for higher-value work.
While still early, Bhindi.AI’s rapid user growth and strong retention show that many people are ready for AI that doesn’t just talk — it gets things done.
As artificial intelligence moves from novelty to daily utility, platforms that bridge the gap between conversation and completion are likely to win big.
Bhindi.AI is betting that the future belongs to AI that doesn’t just answer questions — it takes action on your behalf.
From a casual idea over lunch to a tool managing real workflows for thousands of users, Bhindi.AI represents the next evolution of how we work with intelligent machines.
The age of passive AI chat is ending. The era of active, helpful AI agents is just beginning.
